found this at the tropical aquarium in paris, which was in a building that also contained the historical museum of immigration? so it's not like it wasn't a weird enough place as it was.. but wtf!
the aquarium's main attraction was an enormous crocodile. it was kinda cool... the zoo was closed. :/

i saw the hangover on friday with ed, whom i saw the first transformers movie with - we'd agreed to see the sequel together until we heard it sucks so we saw this instead. the hangover was really dumb & really awesome. we were going crazy trying to place bradley cooper - googling on my iphone straight after, it turned out that we know him from nip/tuck! he's the actor on hearts & scalpels!

too much to write

june has been lovely and crazy. after my intense sims 3 hibernation, i feel like i haven't had a break. it's nice but this morning i realised (while one friend is in the bath and the other is still sleeping in our hotel room in venice) that my google reader has 237 unread posts. this made me sad. i hate feeling behind! i guess it's because i added brad's blog to my reader and literally half the posts are from him.

we stayed in paris way longer than we needed to. it was lovely and we felt cultured. christie joined us in venice so we've been more advantageous about going out. met australians the night before and a huge group of americans last night, both in the same awesome bar that had a sign on the door yesterday saying 'we have peanuts HELL YEAH' and a bartender who encouraged us to flash and throw the monkeynuts everywhere. the former was ignored. throwing nuts really does make you feel better!

organisation progress.

the top 3 ft of my bedroom is now occupied with ALL of my books, cds dvds & board games. i feel kinda like i'm sleeping/living in a pop culture museum or something. there are robots, tiaras and a snuffleupagus scattered around it all.

i can't wait for the top of my dresser to be cleared so the magazine stack can relocate there from the windowsill. heels may also find a home there. it seems cruel to throw them on the top shelf of the wardrobe amongst the riffraff shoes..

it is satisfying to finally have most of my books together. it's pretty insane how many i've read in the past few years that i entirely forgot about. since my shelf isnt nearly big enough for them all, i've stacked them in a kinda messy way.. what bugs me the most is that i have a pile with all 7 harry potter books at the bottom of it and they're not in order. i just don't have the energy to move the pile :[ oh god.. i keep finding more books wrapped up in my duvet. it's like narnia.

my goal is to finally have my room clean (bar the boxes with all my paper junk in them) by the time sarah and i go on our paris/venice trip next week.

so after i found you can make your sim a 'never nude', i also discovered a premade 'Funke' family with parents disinterested in their children. and a character called Gobias Koffi.

even in clueless, he seems too old for this scene - you all read my thoughts on the gosling. come on.

oh i got the sims & played it nonstop for the past 12 hours. totally forgot to eat, so i just had a hunk of bread & brought my laptop upstairs to continue playing. i started small. michael cera and i just had a baby girl! our house is too small though - we gotta move..

the sims 3 roster

i've been reading an awful lot in my attempt to stay distracted from utter boredom. i've nearly finished paul feig's other book and i started franny & zooey. lots to go from my new pile!

also, it's june 5th in the uk which means the sims 3 comes out today. i seriously have had this day marked on my ical for 4 months.. since they changed the date from february when i'd had it marked for nearly a year. i was furious! i cannot waaaait to get my hands on that game. jamie (tokenblackchic) and i have been planning what we'll do.

i'm going to make myself, jamie & natalie (communitychannel) all live together with as many teen idols as i can fit in our house. i'm thinking shawn from boy meets world, joey lawrence (in blossom) & obviously freddie prinze junior. i'll throw in pacey witter for good measure & joseph gordon-levitt to fill the indie quota.

we need someone shy.. is my perception of ryan gosling too old? and by that i mean i have a certain idea of who all these people are that i am taking as absolute in my sims 3 world.. and i think i imagine ryan gosling as older than is desired for this situation..

james franco. how many is that? 6. shit. im pretty sure it's 8 to a sims house. IN WHICH CASE I'M MAKING A NEIGHBOURING HOUSE WITH 8 MORE. starting with franco. jason segel can live with him. comedic value. (6 left)

man, i don't need to be as selective now. i want jason schwartzman. ignore all previous ageist comments i made towards gosling. they don't apply for JS. but i want him just after rushmore okay. and jake gyllenhaal (darko years).

i feel wrong putting heath ledger. i have a mental image of him in 10 things i hate about you, but i think you definitely go to hell for putting dead people in your fictional sim self's love life. not that i believe in hell. (this means no river phoenix either.) who's 'now'? man.. all the popular actors these days are only dreamy due to their personalities.. what's that about. this was supposed to be shallow.

michael cera's in too and i'll go crazy and throw in ashton kutcher.. who has pretty great hair too the majority of the time. and if this decision-making-process were based on trump card stats, and "hair" was a category on said cards, ashton would be raking in a solid 9/10 for his full career.
